Vancouver Canucks stars Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes were both recently signed to decent contract extensions. Pettersson agreed to a three-year deal with an AAV of $7.35 million, and Hughes signed a six-year contract with an AAV of $7.85 million.

Apparently the two young stars felt bad for being away from the team for so long, and they wished they could have gotten back sooner.

«Quinn and I just wanted to get back to the team,» Pettersson said. «It felt wrong with us being in Michigan when the team was at training camp and the preseason. We just wanted to get the deals sorted as fast as possible."

Pettersson and Hughes have been a major piece of the Canucks rise as a team. Pettersson has racked up 153 points in 165 games with Vancouver, and Hughes has put up 97 points in 129 games, which is very impressive for a young defenseman. The organization and their fans will be hoping that all the moves made this offseason can bring them back into contention after missing the playoffs last season.
