The Minnesota Wild have recently gotten to be a much more exciting team, along with possessing lots of high-end prospects in the pipeline. Matthew Boldy, Marco Rossi, and Calen Addison are just a few to be named, and it is sounding like at least one of them will be able to crack the opening-night NHL roster.
Although many people thought that Rossi would have the best chance of making the NHL at the start of the season, it apparently is Boldy that is the likeliest to play with the big club. Boldy got a small taste of the NHL last season during the playoffs, practicing with the team and nearly playing at the end of the Vegas Golden Knights series.
The 2019 first round pick (12th overall) has been playing on a line with Kevin Fiala, and it seems that these two could make a deadly duo for the foreseeable future. Both Frederick Gaudreau and Victor Rask have been placed in between them, but Gaudreau seems to have the upper hand since he played with Fiala in the past in Nashville's organization.
The 20-year-old impressed mightily at the AHL level, scoring 18 points in 14 games as a teenager. Although he may not be receiving as much hype as Cole Caufield or Quinton Byfield, Boldy could be a top Calder Trophy candidate playing on a line with rising star Kevin Fiala.
