When the Edmonton Oilers opened training camp last week, general manager Ken Holland told reporters that forward Josh Archibald was not vaccinated. Archibald would miss thirty of the team's games in the United States due to quarantine restrictions upon their return to Canada.

On Wednesday, Oilers head coach Dave Tippett told the media that Archibald is having some health issues and not getting up to speed. He is also undergoing tests with the Oilers team doctors to determine what is going on.

"Arch skated for a few days," Tippett said. "He's having some tests done. He just can't seem to get himself up to speed and he's not feeling like he should be. The last couple of days, he's had some testing done and we're waiting for the results of that. He's just not getting up to speed like he should be, so they just want to go see where he's at. He's set back a couple days here."

Archibald, 28, played in 52 games with the Oilers last season where he tallied 13 points (7 G, 6 A), 37 penalty minutes, and was a +2.

The Regina, Saskatchewan native's absence could open the door for Colton Sceviour who is with the Oilers in training camp on a professional tryout contract. Sceviour has played in both of Edmonton's pre-season games thus far, recording two assists in their 4-0 win over Calgary on Sunday.
