Florida Panthers defenceman Aaron Ekblad has been cleared to play following his physical exam on Wednesday at training camp.

The Windsor, Ontario native suffered a fracture in his left leg after colliding with Dallas Stars defenceman Esa Lindell on March 28th. The next day, Ekblad had surgery and missed the remainder of the season.

"I feel great," Ekblad told team writer Jameson Olive. "I'm happy with all of my progressions to this point and confident that I can reach my same level of play from last season and exceed it."

Ekblad, 25, was having a fairly good season with the Panthers prior to the injury. In 35 games he had 22 points (11 G, 11 A), 33 penalty minutes, and was a +5.
