The Buffalo Sabres announced on Wednesday that they've re-signed restricted free agent defenceman Rasmus Dahlin to a three-year contract worth $18 million ($6 million AAV).

According to CapFriendly, the contract breakdown will see Dahlin earn $3 million in salary and a $2 million signing bonus in the first year (2021-22), a $5.8 million salary in the second year, and a $7.2 million salary in the third and final year.

"His way to play was how I learned to play hockey," Dahlin said of Granato after the 2020-21 season. "But the thing I felt was that he trusted me as a player. He really saw what my potential was, and I felt comfortable playing out there. I wasn't thinking too much."

The Lidkoping, Sweden native was drafted in the first round, first overall by Buffalo in 2018. He appeared in all 56 games for the Sabres during the 2020-21 season, tallying 23 points (5 G, 18 A), 26 penalty minutes, and was a -36.
