Flyers announce several injury updates ahead of training camp

On the eve of training camps opening, the Philadelphia Flyers announced several injury updates.

Second line centerman Kevin Hayes had abdominal surgery today and will miss six-to-eight weeks to recovery. In 55 games last season, Hayes had 31 points (12 G, 19 A), 22 penalty minutes and, was a -2.

Defenceman Samuel Morin had surgery on his right knee to remove loose bodies on September 10th and will be out six-to-eight weeks. The Lac-Beauport, Quebec native played in 20 games for the Flyers during the 2020-21 season where he had one goal, 37 penalty minutes, and was a -7.

Rookie forward Wade Allison is out indefinitely after spraining his right ankle. The 23-year-old was drafted by the Flyers in 2016 and played in 14 games with them last season where he tallied seven points (4 G, 3 A), four penalty minutes, and was a +1.

Lastly, prospect Zayde Wisdom will be out indefinitely after having shoulder surgery. Wisdom was drafted by Philadelphia in the second round of the 2020 draft. Because the OHL didn't operate during the 2020-21 season, he spent the year with the Flyers' AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms where he recorded 18 points (7 G, 11 A), 33 penalty minutes, and was a +6 in 28 games.

The Flyers will open training camp tomorrow and will play their first pre-season game on Tuesday, September 28th against the New York Islanders.
