The Montreal Canadiens rookie camp squad headed to Ottawa Saturday afternoon to take on the Senators. Among those in the lineup for the Habs was Mattias Norlinder, their top defence prospect.

Norlinder stood out for Montreal in this afternoon's game, scoring a goal with less than a minute left in the second period to tie the game at two goals apiece. Ottawa Senators forward Shane Pinto turned the puck over in his own zone to Norlinder, who walked in and roofed it blocker side on Mads Sogaard.

Just over half-way through the third period, Norlinder added an assist on Jan Mysak's powerplay goal to give the Canadiens a 3-2 lead. Norlinder passed the puck across to Joshua Roy, who fed it to Mysak who was in the slot and fired it top corner over the glove of Leevi Merilainen.

Montreal would go on to lose the game 4-3. Ottawa's rookie squad will now travel to the Canadiens' practice facility on Monday to play at 4pm ET.
