The Edmonton Oilers announced on Saturday that they have signed forward Kailer Yamamoto to a one-year contract extension worth $1.175 million.

Yamamoto was originally drafted by the Oilers 22nd overall in the 2017 NHL Draft, and he had tallied 20 goals and 32 assists in 105 games since then.

The 22-year-old was a restricted free agent prior to signing the new contract. He had an interesting season last year tallying 8 goals and 13 assists in 52 games, bouncing between the top nine forwards. He also added one assist in four postseason games.
