After a 2020-21 season that saw several Vancouver Canucks get hit hard by COVID-19, their captain in Bo Horvat is encouraging both his teammates and everyone else out there to get vaccinated.

«Considering everything that's gone on, there's obviously different situations that people can get put in and they can be vaccinated or not,» Horvat told Sportsnet. «But for me, if you're able to get vaccinated, I think you should. I've had COVID before and it's no joke. This vaccine works and it's helping people not get sick. I got (vaccinated) right away, as soon as I could.»

«So I encourage everybody to go get it. I think it'll get the world back to normal. Hopefully guys realize that and go get vaccinated – for everybody's safety and health and their families health.»

When Canucks camp opens on September 22, Horvat said that some peer pressure towards any teammates that aren't fully pressured could go a long way in having them and the team be able to play out the 2021-22 season with no issue. Whether or not all his teammates agree with his sentiments is unknown, but it is quite responsible of the Canucks captain to do everything he can to try and protect not only his team, but society as a whole.
