It has been a rough year for Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin, who has had plenty of health related issues as of late. The 29-year-old was limited to just three games this past season due to hip surgery. He was hopeful to get a full summer of training in to come back better than ever in 2021-22, but recently tested positive for COVID-19, which hampered his strength and conditioning regime.

"I was like, 'I can't believe it, but I got COVID.' That knocked me on my ass for a couple weeks,' he said to Saad Yousuf of The Athletic.

The star forward said he was fully vaccinated at the time, which added to the surprise of testing positive. Thankfully, he is feeling better and sounds ready to go for the upcoming campaign.

"I can confidently say that I can do pretty much 98% of the things in the gym now, which is really exciting," Seguin said. "It has taken a long time to get here. There are certain things like sprinting that have been a little bothersome but, on the ice, I feel pretty much back to normal, which is exciting for me."

The Stars organization and its fans will be thrilled to hear this news, as they clearly missed Seguin last season. After advancing all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2020, they missed the playoffs entirely this past campaign. With a healthy Seguin, they should be in for a bounce back year.
