New York Islanders forward Anthony Beauvillier reportedly has a new contract, but in true Lou Lamoriello fashion, the Isles GM has not yet filed the paperwork and is attempting to keep the deal quiet.

According to The Athletic's Arthur Staple, Beauvillier's new deal is for three years and worth around $4.1 million AAV. Lamoriello is apparently attempting to keep his cap situation a secret for potential trades. It was revealed Tuesday that centre Casey Cizikas also has a new a contract with the Islanders, but that one hasn't yet been filed or announced. It's believed to be worth around $2.5 million per season for six years.

Beauvillier, 24, is a former first-round pick (28th oversll) is the Islanders. He's played 333 regular season NHL games and has recorded 81 goals and 155 points. If the 2020-21 season had been a full one, Beauvillier likely would have set new career highs in goals, assists and points. He played in 47 of the Isles 56 games.

"The three-year term for Beauvillier buys up one year of UFA," said Staple. "Heard he was looking for $4.5-million per and Isles likely wanted more term. Decent compromise for one of their few under-25 forwards."
