With no trade seemingly on the horizon that would grant Jack Eichel his wish to no longer be a member of the Buffalo Sabres, the 24-year-old centre has made a big change. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, Eichel has ditched Peter Fish and Peter Donatelli as his agents and has decided to go with Pat Brisson.

Brisson has some of the biggest names in hockey in his portfolio, included John Tavares, Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Sidney Crosby, Anze Kopitar, Claude Giroux, Nathan MacKinnon and several others. The total value of the contract for his current clientele is over $1 billion, with an average annual value of $175 million (according to Puckpedia). In 2017, Brisson was named the 9th most powerful agent in all of sports by Forbes. In 2016, he was ranked #7, and in 2015 he was ranked #10. Additionally, he is consistently ranked as one of the 100 most powerful people in the National Hockey League by The Hockey News. He has negotiated hundreds of millions of dollars in contracts during his career for the players he represents. The Hollywood Reporter did a piece on Brisson titled "A Day in the Life of CAA's Very own Jerry MacGuire".

Why this change has been made isn't clear, but Brisson certainly has the experience and the contacts around the league to potentially get something done faster. Eichel's previous agents released a statement in July saying their client believed he would have been out of Buffalo by now.
