While still recovering from a knee sprain, Patrik Laine was involved in a scary incident during practice with the Montreal Canadiens when he and a teammate collided.

This is the kind of thing that must have left his teammates, coaches, and anyone else participating in the practice breathless.

Patrik Laine, who has been a full participant in Montreal Canadiens practices the last few days despite his return date being unknown, collided with a teammate during a scrimmage.

The situation was eerily reminiscent of Patrik Laine's collision with Cedric Pare of the Toronto Maple Leafs during a preseason game that has kept him from making his regular season debut with the Montreal Canadiens.

This time, Laine collided with defenseman Justin Barron of the Montreal Canadiens during what looked like a scrimmage. Thankfully, while he started to get up slowly at first, he skated off with no visible damage.

Hard to tell from the angle, but it looked like Barron caught Laine in the chest first, which may have softened any blow he might have received to the knee.

It's the best possible outcome for Patrik Laine, who recently suffered the loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars in a disaster of a condo purchase. There's no question he really wants to bounce back from what has been a tough couple of years.

Hopefully, Patrik Laine can make his debut Saturday when the Montreal Canadiens take on the New York Rangers. If not, there's Sunday against the Boston Bruins, or Tuesday in a matchup with the New York Islanders.
