The rebuild in Detroit isn't moving as quickly as many had expected and hoped, and now Steve Yzerman is snapping back at those reporters questioning him.

Over the past few years, the Detroit Red Wings have been in a rebuild known commonly as the 'Yzerplan', with many fans believing that franchise icon Steve Yzerman could help this team out of their struggling period.

Unfortunately, despite the addition of stars like Dylan Larkin, Alex DeBrincat, Mo Seider and Lucas Raymond, the team are in the midst of another poor campaign, one that could extend their Stanley Cup Playoffs drought.

It became clear that a change was needed, and on Thursday the team removed Derek Lalonde from his role as Head Coach, naming veteran Todd McClellan as the new man in charge behind the bench.

However, things still clearly aren't perfect in Detroit, as Yzerman faced the media in a press conference to announce the move, to which he got very snarky with reporters when pressed about why the rebuild is taking so long.

"If you have a better way, you're free to share it with me, okay?"

This reaction from Yzerman shows the clear frustration that has been building in Detroit for quite some time, and with the GM clearly trying to make changes to spark the team, this could become ugly if the team can't turn things around on the ice anytime soon.

Ultimately, the pieces are there in Detroit for this team to push for a playoff spot, but with some intriguing decisions from Yzerman over the past few years coming back to bite the team, if they can't break their Stanley Cup Playoffs drought soon, ownership may be forced to make a drastic change that could completely shake things up.
