A North Carolina pro team suspended a player indefinitely for lashing out at a rowdy fan during a game.

An incident occurred during the weekend during a Southern Professional Hockey League game between the Fayetteville Marksmen and the Macon Mayhem.

According to a testimony shared on X, the player Reggie Millette lashed out at a fan with his stick as he was leaving the ice on Friday, and it continued in Saturday night's game when he had an altercation with fans before being ejected from the game.

The witness also asked the SPHL to act on the incident.

In his own words:

"The SPHL needs to act on an incident that occurred after the Marksmen at the Mayhem game. Reggie Millette att*cked a fan with his stick as he left the ice Friday night. Saturday night team handlers had to get between him and the fans as he was sent off the ice Saturday night."

The Fayetteville organization released an official statement, indicating that they were made aware of Millette's actions. They decided to suspend him indefinitely for "conduct detrimental to the organization".

Here's their press release:

Reggie Millette, 24, was never drafted in the NHL but took part in 34 ECHL games with the Tulsa Oilers, the affiliate of the NHL's Anaheim Ducks.

In 2020, he received a scholarship from the NCAA:

Bauer even made a video about Millette's story back in 2022. Watch it here:

It's unfortunate to see him involved in such an incident, especially after what he went through. However, going after fans is unacceptable, and violence is never the solution.
