An apparent travel issue has caused a slight disruption in the preseason game between the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The start of the game between the Red Wings and the Penguins has been delayed from 7 PM Central Standard Time to 8:30 PM CST due to a "travel issue." It is currently unknown what the travel issue is that is causing the game to be delayed by 90 minutes. The doors are still opening at 5:30, 3 hours before the now listed puck drop.
The Red Wings roster features multiple long-time NHL forwards like Patrick Kane, Tyler Motte, Alex Debrincat, and Austin Watson. The Detroit roster also features two high-end prospects in goaltender Sebastian Cossa and forward Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, with Brandsegg-Nygard being the most recent Red Wings' first-round draft pick back in 2024 when the Red Wings selected him 15th overall.
The Pittsburgh Penguins roster consists of many NHL players such as Lars Eller, Noel Acciari, Ryan Graves, and Tristan Jarry. The roster also features recently acquired forward Rutger McGroarty, who is playing to solidify his NHL roster spot. The Penguins are not playing their strongest lineup as they have a back-to-back, playing tomorrow in the Kraft Hockeyville preseason game at the Sudbury Community Center.
