Lead singer of popular band Pearl Jam makes a beautiful tribute to Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau
During a recent Pearl Jam concert, their lead singer Eddie Vedder paused the show and took a moment to pay tribute to the late Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau.
Love and support from around the world after the tragic loss of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau have indeed been nothing short of phenomenal. Over a week since their passing, heartfelt tributes have come in from everywhere.
On Saturday, that wave of remembrance found its way into a Pearl Jam concert at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, where another touching tribute took place.
During one moment of the performance, the lead vocalist of Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder, momentarily paused the concert to address the crowd on the pain of losing the two young men. He continued expressing his grief by informing them that he had lost his brother just five years ago and that the tragedy held a certain personal relevance to him and the band.
In a touching tribute to remembrance, Eddie Vedder had the next song dedicated to Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. At one point, he walked out with their jerseys in his hands, raising them high to pay tribute to the lives that were taken away too early.
This was an emotional and deeply personal gesture on Eddie Vedder's and Pearl Jam's behalf, paralleling the depth of grief that they, themselves, have felt.
