The Columbus Blue Jackets took a chance on Cayden Lindstrom in the 2024 NHL Draft, but now the Medicine Hat Tigers star has suffered another major setback.

Despite having enormous potential, the Columbus Blue Jackets took a risk when they drafted Cayden Lindstrom No. 4 overall in the 2024 NHL Draft, which could be one of the biggest 'boom-or-bust' selections in the entire draft. Unfortunately, the injury situation has now come to the fore again, as he has reportedly been ruled out of the NHL's Prospect Challenge next month.

Not only that, but he will also be limited when NHL training camp begins, with the question marks already coming to the fore for the incredibly talented 18-year old. Fortunately, there's still plenty of time for him to get healthy and become a force in the NHL, with his 27 goals in 32 WHL games a year ago showing just how good he can be when healthy.

With the likes of Adam Fantili, David Jiricek and Kent Johnston among others, the future is very bright in Columbus, and if they can all manage to stay healthy and develop at the next level, this team could one day be one of the most enjoyable teams to watch in the entire NHL.
