Today a sad announcement has been made announcing the passing of former Detroit Red Wings masseur Sergei Mnatsakanov.

The Detroit Red Wings took to X to announce the sad news that Sergei Mnatsakanov had passed away. He was a member of the Red Wings staff in the 1990s and was there for the Red Wings 1997 Stanley Cup Champion team.
Outside of his work with the team on the ice Sergei Mnatsakanov is likely most well known for a tragic bus accident. After the team's championship Sergei Mnatsakanov, Vladimir Konstantinov, and Slava Fetisov were involved in a major accident when a limo they were in collided with a tree. All three suffered major injuries but did eventually survive.
Our condolences go out to Sergei Mnatsakanov's family including his wife Elena and his two children Art and Max as they grieve an unimaginable loss. Our thoughts are with them, the Detroit Red Wings, and friends and family of Sergei Mnatsakanov during this difficult time.
