The St. Louis Blues have donated $10,000 to help the family of former Blues and Oilers player Kyle Brodziak, after his family members were struck by a car.

The Blues organization decided to make this donation after Kyle Brodziak's brother Ryan, and his nephew Ozzy, were both struck by a car that lost control while they were innocently walking their dog in a Sherwood Park neighbourhood.
Ozzy and Ryan were out for a casual stroll in the neighbourhood getting some exercise when they were smashed right into by this maniac recklessly driving. The fantastic news here is that both will survive and are now recovering. The Blues showed their support by offering this donation to them.
A GoFundMe page was also set up earlier in the week and it explained the gravity of the situation.
Ryan suffered a significant spinal cord injury, resulting in multiple fractures to his spine and remains paralyzed while awaiting emergency surgery. His 11-month-old son, Ozzy, is recovering from fractures to his skull and left arm at the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton.

Despite Kyle Brodziak no longer being a member of the Blues and having only played with them for a few seasons, they proved to everyone that they truly take good care of their players whether they are current or former, and the fact that this wasn't directly involving Kyle, but rather his brother, who had no significance to the team, goes to show that they truly are a first class organization.
Kyle Brodziak started off his career with the Edmonton Oilers and later moved on to the Minnesota Wild. He then joined the Blues and overall played 14 years in the NHL, and accumulated a total of 917 NHL games, scoring 129 goals and 296 points. He also had a stint with the Minnesota Wild.
The GoFuneMe page for Kyle's brother Ryan has already garnered over 2,100 donations, totalling almost $250,000 as of Saturday morning. Anyone wishing to donate can go to https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-ryan-ozzy-brodziaks-medical-care
We wish Ryan and Ozzy a speedy recovery and hope they will be able to get back to a normal life. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to Kyle.
