The Nashville Predators have one of the NHL's best prospects, and now we know how much it will take for opposing teams to acquire him via trade.

This summer, the Nashville Predators have completely transformed the outlook of this team, with the additions of Jonathan Marchessault, Brady Skjei and Steven Stamkos immediately catapulting them to contention in the Western Conference. Now, they may be looking to swing another big move, as top goaltending prospect Yaroslav Askarov officially asked for a trade earlier this off-season.
It's unclear at this point what type of interest there is in him around the league, but according to the NHL's top insider in Elliotte Friedman, the team want a big piece in return for the 22-year old.
"They are looking for either an established NHL player who makes sense to acquire for Askarov, or another high-level prospect who isn't a goaltender, so a forward or a defenseman, that's what the Predators are seeking." - Elliotte Friedman

Unsurprisingly, the Predators want a lot in return for the No. 11 overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, who has been fantastic in the AHL in recent years, tallying a 2.39 GAA and a .911 save percentage in 44 regular season appearances in 2023/24. With a team ready to make a Stanley Cup Playoff push and the future in net locked in with Juuse Saros, it makes sense for Nashville to seek a trade here, and if they get interest in Askarov, expect to see a big return whenever that may happen.
