After the St. Louis Blues offer sheeted Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway, the flood gates may be opening for an offer sheet to Matty Beniers.

Per several reports, after the Edmonton Oilers were screwed over by the St. Louis Blues with offer sheets to Dylan Holloway ($2.3 million for Holloway, with a third round pick as compensation, and $4.58 million for Broberg, with a second round pick as compensation), other teams may be eyeing the offer sheet route for some remaining RFA's.
Three main candidates are still on the market, the Detroit Red Wings' calder trophy winning Moritz Seider, who likely won't be offer sheeted as the Red Wings still hold $17 million in cap space, the Boston Bruins' Jeremy Swayman, who was given a major vote of faith following the Linus Ullmark trade, and the Seattle Kraken second overall pick Matty Beniers.
The Calder trophy winner is a 6-foot-2 two-way forward who has the upside of being a Selke candidate, and has already had a near 60-point season. The potential is undeniable, but his down year last year may have the Seattle Kraken worried about his long-term projection on a long-term deal.
The Seattle Kraken currently have approximately $6.3-million in cap space, so an offer sheet in the range above that could be dangerous. Several teams have both the assets and cap space necessary to pull off such a move. An offer sheet between $6.87 million and $9.16 million would cost a first, a second, and a third round pick for a team.
The Philadelphia Flyers, who are in desperate need for a first-line centre, have been linked reportedly. Star winger Matvei Michkov will be coming into the league, and will need a strong centreman - better than their current option of Morgan Frost. They have both the assets and cap space necessary for a move to happen. As put by Philadelphia Hockey Now, »Beniers' main issue offensively is that he can't do it all by himself, but on a Flyers team that flaunts talents like Tippett, Konecny, Matvei Michkov, that won't be an issue.» The fit truly seems natural.
Could one of the biggest offer sheets of the modern era be in the works between the Philadelphia Flyers and Seattle Kraken? For the fun of the game, we sure hope so.
