Alex Nylander joined his brother William in Toronto this off-season by signing with the Toronto Marlies, and now he opens up on the exciting opportunity.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have made some solid moves this off-season, but perhaps the one going most under the radar is the decision to sign Alex Nylander, the younger brother of William to an AHL deal with the Marlies. The 26-year old broke out in a big way last year, netting 11 goals in his 23 games played with the Columbus Blue Jackets, with the former first-round pick now looking to find a regular NHL role.
He will have to earn that however, but given the opportunity to play with his brother, it's safe to say he's excited and ready to do just that.
We're really looking forward to this. It's going to be awesome. I've obviously watched the Leafs the most out of all the teams, so I know them really well... It can't get any better.

Unsurprisingly, after bouncing around in the AHL for years with Pittsburgh and Columbus, Nylander is excited for the opportunity, and with the likes of Calle Jarnkrok, Ryan Reaves and David Kampf ahead of him, there's a really opportunity for him to earn some playing time. Only time will tell whether or not he can get into a game with the Maple Leafs and on the ice with his brother, but given his talent and production a season ago, there's a good chance we see it at some point in the 2024/25 season.
