QMJHL goaltender Creed Jones tragically passes away at a young age

Reports have confirmed today that former QMJHL and Usports goaltender Creed Jones has passed away at the age of 24.

Creed Jones was best known by fans for his time with the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL. He was never a star player, but he did spend the majority of his junior career with the team.
It is with great sadness that the Gatineau Olympiques organization has learned of the passing of one of our alumni, Creed Jones. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. 💔
Upon learning of his death, many around the hockey world have expressed their condolences for Jones' family. Among those to share their thoughts are the QMJHL and Pinnacle Hockey, an organization dedicated to helping ice hockey goaltenders improve their craft.
It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Creed Jones. Creed was a great goalie but an even better teammate and person. Our thoughts and prayers are with Creed's family and friends
An obituary confirmed that the cause of Jones' death was a motorcycle accident in Ottawa, but they have not released any further details for the sake of Jones' loved ones. It also shares the best aspects of his life, noting that he was a beloved goalie instructor in the Ottawa area.
"Creed Jones was a well-known goalie instructor. His passion for the game, dedication to the players touched us the whole community of DT Tessler in ways words cannot describe. He was an integral part of the community in many and he will always be missed by the team for his contributions and the impact he had on everyone."
Jones spent four seasons playing in the QMJHL before joining Ottawa University for a single season. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, co-workers, clients, and fans. Rest in peace Creed.
