The Minnesota Wild have announced an exciting extension as defenseman Brock Faber has agreed to a long-term extension with the club.

According to multiple reports Brock Faber will be sticking around in Minnesota for the next 8 seasons. He has agreed to an 8-year contract with Wild GM Bill Guerin that makes him the key piece of the Minnesota Wild defense going forward.

Brock Faber began his NHL career after a successful career at the University of Minnesota. The 2023-24 NHL season was his first full year in the NHL and things went better than anyone could imagine. In 82 games he put up 47 points and was a finalist for the Norris Trophy.
At just 21 years old Brock Faber has plenty of runway to improve over the 8-year contract he just signed. During that time if he is able to win a Norris Trophy the 8.5 million dollar price tag will look like an absolute steal. As the season continues to get closer it will be interesting to see how the Minnesota Wild and Bill Guerin continue building their new young core.
