The Utah Hockey Club have acquired defenseman John Marino from the New Jersey Devils.

Only minutes after acquiring Mikhail Sergachev from the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Utah Hockey Club and general manager Bill Armstrong have acquired John Marino from the New Jersey Devils.

In exchange, the New Jersey Devils have acquired the 49th overall pick, and the Edmonton Oilers second round pick in 2025.

John Marino going to Utah as well as Mikhail Sergachev. The 49th pick and Edmonton's second round pick in 2025 going to the Devils.

This is an absolute coup for the Utah Hockey Club as they have acquired what could be an elite defensive pairing in Mikhail Sergachev and John Marino. Clearly the team is looking to make the playoffs, and it certainly seems like it could happen.
