The Toronto Maple Leafs appear motivated to move star forward Mitch Marner, and according to a top source, they may begin the process very, very soon.

Despite the renewed optimism, the Maple Leafs once again fell in round one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and this time, it's resulting in some big changes. Firstly the team moved on from Sheldon Keefe, and now, it appears Mitch Marner is next, as the trade whispers have not stopped since the heartbreaking Game 7 overtime loss in Boston.
Plenty of teams have been linked to Mitch Marner, with rumblings that the newly formed Utah Hockey Club, along with Nashville, Seattle and other teams have interest in landing the star winger.
Whether or not it's any of the above teams, David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period is now speculating that the Maple Leafs have officially begun taking trade calls on Marner with free agency and the 2024 NHL Draft rapidly approaching.
The Leafs could soon be taking trade calls about Mitch Marner with a few teams
It's unclear whether the team have begun talks with Marner about a potential trade, but with his free agency a year from now, a fresh start for both may be the best option, so we will wait and see whether he's moved now or perhaps at the trade deadline when the season gets rolling again.
