Toronto Maple Leafs unexpectedly cut ties with coach Guy Boucher

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that assistant coach Guy Boucher will be leaving the team and the organization.

Guy Boucher has been with the Toronto Maple Leafs for several years under former head coach Sheldon Keefe, but with the new hiring of Craig Berube, the Toronto Maple Leafs organization will be letting him go.

Formerly a coach for the Ottawa Senators, Guy Boucher will likely get some attention from other NHL teams this off-season. Brad Treliving clearly wants to start fresh, and a coaching change will get them one step closer.

We will see who Craig Berube opts to bring in as his new assistant coach, but this new era of the Toronto Maple Leafs has officially begun. It will be interesting to see if any playoff success comes with it.
