Nikita Zadorov's future in Vancouver officially revealed by his wife
Nikita Zadorov made a major impact for the Vancouver Canucks after arriving from Calgary, but now it appears it was just a rental for the 2023-24 season.
The 2023-24 season was a massive one for the Vancouver Canucks, and while they fell short in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, they took a major step forward with a star-studded roster. That roster saw several additions throughout the season, with both Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov making an impact after joining the team from the Calgary Flames.
While it wasn't Zadorov's best season of his career, he clearly stood up in the playoffs, making headlines and major plays for the team throughout their brief post-season run. Recently, Lindholm revealed through his wife that they were spending their last days in Vancouver, and now, the same has been done for Zadorov.
On Instagram, Zadorov's wife posted something similar, revealing that the couple are spending their last days in Vancouver, signalling that the team are likely unwilling to meet his asking price in free agency. Given his size, athleticism and goal scoring ability, Zadorov will be a hot commodity on the free agency market, and while it's not 100% ruled out that he won't return to Vancouver, all signs are pointing to him leaving in the coming weeks.
