The Edmonton Oilers are headed to the Stanley Cup Finals, but unsurprisingly, there's now a major officiating controversy after their game six win against the Stars.

After a hard-fought series, the Edmonton Oilers rattled off three straight wins against the Stars and will now take on the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Finals. However, it wouldn't be the Stanley Cup Playoffs without drama, and now one social media user has identified a blatant missed call on captain Connor McDavid that could have turned the tides in the favour of the Dallas Stars.

Looks like McDavid got away with closing his hand on the puck 😬

From this video, it is clearly a missed call from the officials, and while it may not have changed the outcome of the game, plays like this certainly don't discredit the fans and analysts that believe No. 97 is officiated completely different to everyone else in the NHL. Whether or not this was the wrong call, McDavid had himself a fantastic game, with a potential goal of the year highlighting just why the Oilers are confident they can win their first Stanley Cup since 1990.

Ultimately, there's nothing that can be done about this now, as the Oilers won three straight and earned their way into the Stanley Cup Finals, but it would be ideal for the NHL if just one of their games came without blatant missed calls.
