Sheldon Keefe buries the Maple Leafs organization with new comments

Today former Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe spoke for the first time as the head coach of the New Jersey Devils and in his comments he put the past behind him.

The Toronto Maple Leafs made the decision to part ways with head coach Sheldon Keefe after a disappointing playoff exit. This decision was one that was widely supported by fans and media who had soured on Sheldon Keefe. After being fired it did not take long for the New Jersey Devils to come in to try and secure Sheldon Keefe's services.
Sheldon Keefe says that after posting his thank you video to Toronto he took his wife Jackie out to lunch and in the middle of the lunch Brad Treliving called to tell him that Tom Fitzgerald had asked to speak with him.

That's how quickly this process began for Keefe
Today he was officially introduced as the head coach of the New Jersey Devils. During his opening remarks Sheldon Keefe spoke about his time with the Maple Leafs and said he moved on quickly and is excited for this completely unique opportunity.
Sheldon Keefe, upon formally being introduced as #NJDevils head coach, says he found quick closure after being fired by the #leafs.

"This is a fresh start and a great opportunity ahead. It's completely unique and different."
Many in the Maple Leafs fan base believed that Sheldon Keefe did not have the passion and fire to help a team succeed in the playoffs. He will get an opportunity to prove them wrong as he embarks on his journey with a new young core in New Jersey.
