The defenseman Nikita Zadorov reportedly refused a contract extension with the Vancouver Canucks.

Zadorov played a key role in the Canucks' playoff run. His style of play is very useful in the post-season games: he's physical and has a knack for getting into his opponents' heads.
The defenseman is set to hit the free agent market on July 1st, and according to a new report, he's already refused an offer from the Vancouver Canucks.
Zadorov joined the Canucks back in November, after he requested to be traded out of the Calgary Flames' organization.
He said many times in interviews that he wanted to remain in Vancouver, but is aware that the organization's financial situation will complicate his negotiations.
Usually, if players absolutely want to stay with their teams, they don't mind agreeing to a lower salary. However, it has been reported that the defenseman refused a 4-5 years contract valued at $4.5M AAV from the Canucks:
"Interesting tidbit from Irf in this @RinkWideVAN episode:

The #Canucks reportedly tabled an offer for $4.5M for 4 or 5 years to Nikita Zadorov's camp, which was rejected.

Seems like both camps are interested in getting a deal done, so we'll see where it goes from here."
It'll be interesting to see where he ends up. Many teams are looking for a defenseman like Zadorov, and there's no doubt that he could get more money in another city.
Do you think Nikita Zadorov will sign a contract with the Vancouver Canucks this summer?
