Following the Vancouver Canucks victory over the Edmonton Oilers, Carson Soucy cross-checked Connor McDavid's face and has now been suspended for it.

Last night, we saw one of the dirtiest plays that we have seen all postseason as Carson Soucy cross-checked Connor McDavid's face well after the game had ended.

Carson Soucy and Nikita Zadorov take out Connor McDavid after time expires

The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that there would be a hearing for Carson Soucy and that Nikita Zadorov would only receive a $5,000 fine.

Vancouver's Nikita Zadorov has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for cross-checking Edmonton's Connor McDavid.

Vancouver's Carson Soucy will have a hearing for cross-checking Edmonton's Connor McDavid. Date and time TBD.

And just now, Soucy has officially been suspended for his hit on McDavid.

The Oilers will now have an advantage over the Canucks for the next game as Soucy is one of the Canucks better shutdown defensemen and will need to lean on somebody else while Soucy is out.
