The Bruins had a long and difficult battle against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the playoffs. Now in their second game against the Florida Panthers, Brad Marchand made it apparent the Bruins are far from done with taking their opponents down.

During the first period of this evening's game against the Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers forward and alternate captain Matthew Tkachuk was looking for a chance to score. Tkachuk decided to go for a shot between his legs, but was quickly shut down by Brad Marchand with a massive hit.

"Tkachuk will jump for the puck. Matthew Tkachuk— Big hit by Marchand, knocks down Matthew Tkachuk!"

While it is no surprise that Brad Marchand would try to stop Tkachuk from scoring the first goal of the game, the sheer size difference between the players makes this feat more impressive. Unsurprisingly, Bruins fans have rallied around the player in support of this play.

"Brad Marchand

Matthew Tkachuk

206 Pounds

Little ball of hate baby sit tf down Matty"

The Boston Bruins are currently up 1-0 against the Panthers at the end of the first period after Charlie Coyle scored the first goal in the game. If Florida wants a chance to tie the series, they will have to fight extra hard against a team trying to redeem themselves after last year's loss.

"BRUINS SCORE!

Beautiful hockey!

COYLE with the goal!"
