Oskar Lindblom has been a solid performer in the NHL for some time, but now the 27-year old is officially heading home after a surprising announcement.

After originally being drafted in the fifth-round of the 2014 NHL Draft, Lindblom carved out a solid career for himself, playing in 337 games for the Philadelphia Flyers and San Jose Sharks. Now however, the 2021 Bill Masterton Award winner is heading home, as Brynäs IF in Sweden have officially announced his return on social media.

Welcome home, Oskar Lindblom! ✍️✅

The 27-year-old forward returns to Gävle and Brynäs IF after seven seasons in North America.

- It feels incredibly good, I have always dreamed of coming back to Brynäs, says Oskar Lindblom.

After a career high of 33 points back in 2018 with the Flyers, Lindblom failed to find that success on a consistent basis, playing just one game in the NHL for the Sharks this past season, spending the majority of time in the AHL with their affiliate the Barracuda.

At 27-years of age, there's plenty of time for Lindblom to turn things around and return to the NHL if he desires, but for now, he's headed home to play with the team he began his professional career with, and we wish him the best of luck.
