Brendan Shanahan's fate with the Maple Leafs has emerged
Changes are to come on the horizon in Toronto, but it won't involved Brendan Shanahan as he is staying as president of the Maple Leafs according to latest news.
Sheldon Keefe, Mitch Marner, others? Yes, they may be gone, but president of the Toronto Maple Leafs Brendan Shanahan will be staying put in Toronto.
According to Elliotte Friedman over at Sportsnet, the team has scheduled a press conference for the upper management, members such as Brad Treliving, Brendan Shanahan and Keith Pelley will be present, meaning all signs point to these three staying put in Toronto.
Not involved in this press conference is Sheldon Keefe, who instead spoke today, in a quite emotional press conference with all signs pointing to the end of the Leafs coach.
It's been a linear pattern for the Leafs in the playoffs with brief stincts, usually getting eliminated in the first round other than last season when they finally beat the hurdle but then got bounced in five games of the second round versus the Florida Panthers. It seems like we are heading into a new era in Toronto, a fresh start many fans are hoping for.
