The LA Kings season is over after another first round exit to the Edmonton Oilers, this time in five games. Dubois, acquired during the summer has not exactly lived up to the price tag the Kings payed for him in the trade and in his recent contract extension. However, GM Rob Blake has dismissed all rumours concerning a potential buyout this summer.

On Monday's exit interviews, Kings GM Rob Blake confirmed that Dubois won't be getting bought out this summer, despite the rumors.

Rob Blake also said today there are no plans to buy out Pierre-Luc Dubois

Here is what a buyout would look like if they decided to buyout the Quebec native according to PuckEmpire:

Buying out Dubois would save LA $5M-$7M per year until 2031, and then cost them $1.13M per year until 2038.

A potential trade however involving PLD hasn't been closed out of the picture, with him being rumoured in a trade with Linus Ullmark leading into the NHL trade deadline back in March, when Ullmark decided against it. Again, it is pure speculation.

The Kings payed a ransom for the 25 year old centre and are most definitely underwhelmed by his first season as a King, but his upside remains the same and shall he get back to his Jets form, the Kings have a good one.
