Michael McCarron has rejuvenated his career with the Nashville Predators, and has been phenomenal in these playoffs against the Vancouver Canucks.

Last night, the crazy playoff atmosphere got the better of him however, as he ran goaltender Casey DeSmith behind the net, breaking an unwritten hockey rule.

This led him to get punished by the NHL's department of player safety, with an $2000 fine:

Nashville's Michael McCarron has been fined $2,000 for goalie interference on Vancouver's Casey DeSmith.

This is a reminder to all players that goaltenders should be off limits. It is irresponsible to try to take one down.

We will see if the Vancouver Canucks go after Michael McCarron next game for revenge.

Considering the Vancouver Canucks have already lost goaltender Thatcher Demko for potentially the rest of the post season, it is even more crucial for Casey DeSmith, who they acquired via trade with the Montreal Canadiens last off-season, to be in his best form.
