Fans of the Anaheim Ducks might not have a whole lot to cheer about right now with their team sitting dead-last in the Honda West division with a record of 8-16-6 through 30 games.

Despite having a poor season, their fans have gotten a glimpse into the future with 2021 World Junior MVP Trevor Zegras, and now it appears another top prospect will be making his NHL debut.

The Ducks announced on Twitter early Thursday afternoon that defenceman Jamie Drysdale is expected to make his NHL debut on Thursday night against the Arizona Coyotes.

Drysdale, 18, was drafted in the first round, sixth overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The Toronto, Ontario native has been playing the past couple seasons with the Erie Otters in the OHL. With the league not running at the moment, the Ducks assigned Drysdale to their AHL affiliate, the San Diego Gulls.

In 14 games with San Diego, Drysdale has recorded 10 points (4 G, 6 A), 6 penalty minutes, and is a -1.

He also represented Canada at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships. In 7 games, Drysdale had 2 points (2 A), 0 penalty minutes, and was a +11 as Canada took home silver following a loss to the United States in the gold medal game.
