Evander Kane has been a player that's worn out his welcome wherever he's gone in the NHL, and after a promising start in Edmonton, that may now be the case too.

After a relatively drama free start to his time in Edmonton, things aren't looking good anymore for Evander Kane with the Oilers, as his future is now up in the air. This topic was breached recently by NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, who revealed just how upset the Oilers were by the way the team were man handled by Toronto with a lack of a physical threat against them, a role that Kane was specifically brought in to play.

"If I was the Oilers organization I would not have liked how McDavid and Draisaitl were treated in Toronto." - Elliotte Friedman, 32 Thoughts Podcast

While the team also added Corey Perry for this type of grit, Kane has known his role for quite some time, and when he didn't play that role, it resulted in an argument between he and Leon Draisaitl on the teams bench.

Despite the initial success in Edmonton that saw him tally 38 goals in his first 84 games with the team, Kane is clearly wearing out his welcome, as Frank Seravalli revealed, the tendencies that have held him back from being a good name in the past are now resurfacing in Edmonton.

Whether he's traded or released in this summer, it appears time is up for Kane in an Oilers jersey, with two more seasons left on his current deal at a manageable $5.125 million cap hit, but unless he changes his fortunes drastically in the playoffs, he's on the way out very, very soon.
