Player agent Allan Walsh officially advocates for Gary Bettman to be removed as the NHL commissioner
Walsh, renowned to share his opinions on X, once again opened up on a controversial matter: Bettman's refusal to see the links between hockey and brain injuries.
He blatantly asked the owners, players, media and fans to demand Bettman to step down:
"It's time for everyone with a stake in the game to demand Gary Bettman be removed as NHL commissioner. His continued denial of #CTE is not acceptable. The owners, players, media and fans have the collective power to demand he step down.
How many more Gary? "
For many years now, experts proved that hockey causes Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).
Dr. Ann McKee, chief of neuropathology for the VA Boston Healthcare System and director of the Boston University CTE Center and UNITE Brain Bank
"I wish (NHL commissioner Gary Bettman) could see the damage these brains endure and the pain this disease causes families."
While Walsh's statement is major, it doesn't mean that we'll see a change. Bettman, 71, already remained in charge despite multiple controversies.
