Bad news for Auston Matthews as he may miss tonight's game
The Toronto Maple Leafs just got dealt some bad news as it appears Auston Matthews may be missing tonight's game against the Washington Capitals.
David Alter of the Athletic shared some important news from Toronto Maple Leafs practice today, and it doesn't look good, as Auston Matthews was absent from practice this morning.
This would be a terrible loss to the Leafs top scoring lines, as they would be missing Mitch Marner who remains out with an ankle injury and Auston Matthews, their two top-scoring players.
However, Mark Masters suggested that Matthews could be in the lineup tonight, given the way the lines were presented at practice if you consider Marner to be a placeholder for Matthews in the lineup tonight.
