The NHL has just announced some last-minute changes to their Stanley Cup Playoffs for this year with just a few weeks remaining in the season.

The most exciting time of the year for hockey fans is quickly approaching, and after this announcement from the NHL, it looks like it is coming quicker than expected. The NHL has just revealed that they are expecting to start the Playoffs on April 20th, when it was previously slated for the 22nd.

Sounds like the NHL will be moving the start date of the playoffs to Saturday April 20th. Originally was the 22nd.

The change, though seemingly small, all, has massive implications for teams who have a busy schedule prior to the playoffs beginning. The extra two days that were expected are no longer available, meaning guys will be that much more tired to start the gruelling battle that is the NHL playoffs.

It seems like the original schedule was just bad planning by Gary Bettman and the NHL, as it appears they had the playoffs starting on a Monday night, which seems ludicrous if you are trying to grow the game of hockey. With the NBA playoffs not starting for a few months, now is the time for the NHL to grab the attention of sports fans, especially since we know Gary Bettman moves games to accommodate the NFL.

Either way, for hockey fans, it is an exciting time coming up!
