NHL Journeyman Chris Simon Passes Away At Age 52
Reports came out earlier today that former NHL forward Chris Simon sadly passed away at the age of 52. Simon played in 782 career NHL games split between seven franchises and eight teams, including the now defunct Quebec Nordiques. His passing lead to many heartfelt messages from around the hockey world.

Each of Simon's former teams made a post honoring his memory once news of his passing became official. Among them were the New York Islanders, where Simon spent two years of his career.
Chris played two seasons with the Islanders (2006-07 and 2007-08). He epitomized what it means to be an Islander, someone who wore his heart on his sleeve both on the ice and in the community.
Simon's passing lead to one NHL agent calling out the NHL for turning a blind eye to the effects of fighting on player's health.
