During Tuesday night's shootout win against the Montreal Canadiens, Senators forward Brady Tkachuk was high-sticked by Habs defenceman Shea Weber. The extent of Tkachuk's injury to his mouth was not revealed until Thursday morning.

According to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun, Tkachuk suffered three chipped teeth and required a root canal to fix one of those teeth. Fortunately for Tkachuk, all of the teeth were saved.

Weber received a four-minute minor for high-sticking, which put Ottawa on a 5 on 3 powerplay for just over a minute.

The 21-year-old, who's in his first season as an alternate captain, is off to a solid start for the Senators this season. In 21 games, he's tallied 15 points (8 G, 7 A), 30 penalty minutes, and is a -2.

Brady and the Ottawa Senators will take on his brother Matthew and the Calgary Flames on Thursday night. Puck drop is set for 7pm ET.

"He's playing like he wants to win every single night." "I'm just proud of him," said Matthew Tkachuk to reporters about Brady.

For those who are hoping the brothers will go toe-to-toe in a fight, don't expect that to happen tonight. "Anybody that thinks we're going to fight is an idiot," Matthew Tkachuk said this morning.
