The Philadelphia Flyers made a couple of moves at the trade deadline, and now a report has emerged that may signal the end of a long-standing NHL career.

Ryan Johansen waived for complicated history with John Tortorella

One of the first moves made at the deadline was Colorado picking up Sean Walker from the Philadelphia Flyers, who in exchange took the cap dump of veteran Ryan Johansen.
The veteran was waived shortly after this, and now, a report has suggested that there are two major factors involved in that decision.
The Flyers waived Ryan Johansen in part due to a complicated history with Torts and hard feelings towards shared agent with Cutter Gauthier.

According to Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts podcast, the reason behind the move was not only hard feelings between John Tortorella and Johansen, but also his shared agent with Cutter Gauthier, who made headlines early in the year when he made himself public enemy No. 1 for Flyers fans.
Ultimately, the move was a cap dump for the Avalanche anyway, so it wasn't likely that he would have played a role anywhere he ended up, but now, after more than 900 games in the NHL, we may be looking at the end of a solid veteran in the NHL.
