Last night during a game in the QMJHL a head coach collapsed leading to the game being postponed. Today the Saint John Sea Dogs have given an update on the coach's health.

Update Emerges for Coach Who Collapsed Last Night

Last night Saint John Sea Dogs head coach Travis Crickard collapsed while on the bench. He was tended to by medical personnel and then transported to the hospital. The rest of the game was postponed due to this medical emergency.
Now the Sea Dogs have released an update and confirmed that Crickard has been released from the hospital after undergoing testing. According to the team statement the medical emergency is expected to be an isolated health incident.
In the third period of last night's game in Sydney, Sea Dogs head coach Travis Crickard experienced a medical emergency and was transported to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for further evaluation.

Travis was released from the hospital this morning and is on his way home to his family in Saint John. What happened last night was scary and the outpouring of support and concern for Travis has meant a lot to him and the team.

He and the team would like to thank those at Centre 200 who responded so quickly, and the emergency medical professionals, led by Dr. RJ Mackenzie, who tended to him.
The statement does not confirm if or when Crickard will return behind the Saint John bench. As he continues to recover we continue to have him and his family in our thoughts and hope to see him back coaching soon.
