After a bumpy first period between the Vegas Golden Knights, and Colorado Avalanche, the game was placed in a delay due to issues relating to deteriorating ice conditions.

Several divots appeared during the first period, causing players, and even the refs to trip. It appears that the issues on the ice are occurring above the logos, and lines. The colored logos and lines are absorbing the sun, causing divots to pop up.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman announced during the first intermission that the game will resume at 12am ET/9pm PT. He added that these are the worst conditions the NHL has faced in the 30+ outdoor games they have held.

If two periods had been completed, the NHL would have deemed the game over, and whoever was leading would get the win in the standings.

The direct sunlight, and warmer than expected temperatures have forced the National Hockey League to push back the start of tomorrow's game between the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers from 2pm ET/11am PT to 7:30pm ET/4:30pm PT.
