NHL players are often seen as heroes on the ice to young fans, but sometimes, they can be heroic off the ice too, and that's exactly what happened for two Edmonton Oilers this past weekend.

Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins help stranded fans

After their latest victory, the two star forwards were headed home before their showdown with the Pittsburgh Penguins, when the duo came across stranded fans in the snow.

According to the fan, two men got out of their vehicles to help the stranded fans, and would ultimately reveal that it was the two Oilers stars, branding them a top notch human beings.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman helped lead the Oilers to a big win on Saturday, and then came through with an ever bigger assist off the ice 🤝

These two are certainly great role models on the ice, and away from it, it's clear that they are fantastic people as well, with the fans having nothing bad to say about the two stars.

Plenty of players would have done the same, but there's also plenty of players that wouldn't have either, so it's great to see that they not only serve their community as top tier players and positive influences, but they are happy to lend a helping hand as well.
