The Toronto Maple Leafs have already made one blue-line move in the past week, and now, it appears they may be clearing cap space to make another shock move.

Toronto Maple Leafs to bring back Justin Holl?

On the latest episode of 32 Thoughts, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman appeared to suggest that with the moves they've made thus far, the Maple Leafs may be looking to the Detroit Red Wings and a potential reunion with Justin Holl.

On Detroit: Guys talk if Justin Holl could go back to Toronto. Team looking to clear up some space. Elliotte wonders if they could be looking at a goalie, even though they have 3 right now. #LGRW #NHL #NHLTradeDeadline

The 32-year old played a total of six seasons with the Maple Leafs, playing in 285 games with the team over that time, but was often the target of much criticism for frustrated Leafs fans during that time.

Is this a good idea for the Toronto Maple Leafs?

It's because of that that Holl decided to take a deal with the Detroit Red Wings this summer, but with just 35 games played this season, it appears he may not be getting the role that he expected.

Now, the Maple Leafs have a need on the blue line, and while they've been linked to players like Chris Tanev, Matt Dumba and Noah Hanifin, Holl may be the cheapest option, and after adding Ilya Lyubushkin, it may be the move for them to make.
